Spring ADMC Sessions
This is a chance to have Eliza correct and sign off on your springboards. CAP students should be working on Irish right now in the monthly cadence, but any dialect you’ve worked on and are ready for correction is fair game.
If you’ve already had your springboards corrected, (from the previous ADMC or hotseat) but you need Eliza to sign off on them, bring those as well. You can upload your springboard MP3s and associated scripts to the appropriate folder (if there isn’t a folder with your name, please add one) here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/2/folders/171W7I8Yxff6SHCQxLjXXmLzGxb8UPUqA
Master Springboards
For those of you who are ready for it, this is also a chance to have Eliza comment on your progress in any of your springboards, and to plan your next steps for dialect mastery.
CAP 25-26 students should all have enough dialects to create a master springboard. This is the culmination of all of your springboard work so far. It’s one long springboard where you copy your existing best takes from each individual springboard into one long springboard with all eight dialects.
Just like our regular springboards, that should look like this:
native speaker1, your best take, native speaker1, blank, native speaker2, your best take, native speaker2, blank, native speaker3, your best take, native speaker3, blank
Carry that on for all eight, all in the same file.
You can upload your Master Springboards here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/2/folders/1Bz7Y31QWxTuvIKzjHojELcZMzst_UGVy
You can perform that for Eliza, repeating in the blanks. Be sure to also include a script for each, so she can provide correction notations.
Once Eliza has signed off each springboard, and to assign you the next step – performing monologues in your perfected dialects. This is where all of the work you’ve done on your springboards pays off! Taking your version of your native speaker’s dialect into another context is where you’ll figure out what you still need to hone, and it’ll help you build a sense of flow and ease that translates huge on the mic.
We’ll be doing these ADMC sessions for the next bunch of Tuesdays, with a few skipped weeks for the awesome Industry Webinar guests we have yet to come.
